Service Description

First Contact is not obedience training. It’s nervous system rehabilitation—for humans who carry canine fear.

Whether you’ve crossed the street to avoid a dog, feel paralyzed in homes with dogs, or carry emotional wounds from a past bite or traumatic encounter—this service is your reset point.

We begin with stillness.
No dog contact. No commands. No exposure that you haven’t chosen.
Mason, a neutral, energy-sensitive co-trainer dog, becomes your silent teacher—never invading space, never asking for attention. Instead, you’ll sit at a safe distance and begin learning to observe canine body language, decode signals, and regulate your breath in the presence of a calm dog.

From there, we gently build emotional readiness—layering in breathwork drills, energy threshold awareness, emotional detox strategies, and exposure pacing tools.

Only when you’re ready do we progress to closer observation or physical presence.

This is about reclaiming safety—not becoming a “dog person.” You’ll leave feeling grounded, in control, and reconnected to your ability to exist around dogs without spiralling.

Neuroscience Insight

Canine-specific phobias often stem from limbic brain activation patterns formed during early emotional shocks or trauma. By calming exposing your nervous system to safe, co-regulated canine energy (without physical contact), we rewire the amygdala’s associations and allow the prefrontal cortex to reassert control over reactive patterning—resulting in calm, embodied confidence. This builds co-regulation pathways using oxytocin and parasympathetic dominance in the presence of calm dogs. Based in trauma-informed psychology and A PET, RESTED™ emotional tracking logic.
